Two people who tried to kill a man in Margate following a row about money have been jailed.
On Friday 13 December 2024 the victim phoned a relative to say that two people were at his house threatening to kill him if he didn’t hand over £400.
Officers attended a property in Margate at 6.10pm where they were faced with blood spots on the door but the victim was not inside.
A call from the South East Coast Ambulance Service came in at 6.39pm reporting a man had entered a store in Cowper Road, Margate and collapsed. He had injuries to his face as well as stab wounds to his chest.
He was taken to a London hospital with multiple stab wounds and a dislocated shoulder after being stamped on.
Following enquiries, later that evening officers attended a property in Grosvenor Place where they located Leigh Moxam and Donna Green. Both were arrested in connection with the incident and taken to custody.
Moxam, 33 of no fixed address was charged with attempted murder and following a trial was found guilty.
Green, 45, of no fixed address was charged with unlawful wounding and possession of a knife and was also found guilty following a trial.
The court heard that it was Green who stabbed the victim multiple times before Moxam then delivered the near fatal stab to his chest.
On Friday 25 July 2025 at Canterbury Crown Court, Moxam was jailed for 25 years and will serve another three years on license.
Green was jailed for two years.
Detective Inspector Luke Stainer said: “Moxam and Green put their victim through a frightening ordeal, firstly demanding the money and following him to the cash point. Not content with taking his money, they then decided to assault him, leaving him with very serious injuries.
“The level of violence was mindless and their actions have had a lasting impact on the victim.
“I hope the sentences allow him to put the incident behind him and rebuild his life while he continues to recover from his injuries.”

Poor victim, he won’t be able to put this behind him, no one can with a near fatal experience like that, looking death in the face.
