Twenty cats, three dogs, three rabbits and two guinea pigs were rescued this week after officers from the RSPCA, police and social services attended a property in Ramsgate.
The animals were taken into RSPCA care on Monday, June 9 following animal welfare concerns. The property is understood to be in the town centre area close to the Staffordshire Street car park.
An RSPCA spokesperson said: “On Monday 9 June 2025, RSPCA officers, supported by Kent Police, and Kent County Council Social Services attended a residential address in Ramsgate.
“Twenty cats, three dogs, three rabbits and two guinea pigs were taken into RSPCA care, examined by veterinary staff and provided with medical treatment where necessary.
“We are unable to comment further at this time for legal reasons.”
It is understood neighbours had previously made numerous reports of concern over a long period of time.

Given the cats and dogs should by law be chipped, if they are not will the owner be prosecuted for each that’s not? Very much doubt it , which rather makes a mockery of the law and raises the question as to why it’s considered necessary if its flouted as much as it is.
