Person hit by train on line between Faversham and Margate

Emergency services are at the scene after a person was hit by a train on the railway line between Faversham and Margate this morning (September 23).

The power has been switched off to allow emergency workers access to the line. Trains are being delayed.

A notice on X from train operator Southeastern says: “The emergency services are on site after a person was sadly hit by a train between Faversham and Margate.

“Trains between these stations are cancelled or diverted via Dover Priory.”

Passengers can use tickets on Stagecoach routes X3, 3, 8, 8A and Loop.

UPDATE: The power has been restored to the railway as the emergency services are clear of the line. The line from Faversham towards Margate remains blocked.

Trains towards London via Faversham can now run, however they have been delayed.

UPDATE: Trains are now running on the Faversham to Margate line.
