The 55th Minster Village Art Show will take place next month with this year’s theme being ‘Art is Therapy.’
Artists exhibiting include Margo in Margate (Margo in Minster) and Sam d’Amato who opened ‘A Stroke of Luck’ gallery in Margate in July.
Sam suffered a stroke in July last year and a large part of his recovery came from painting with daughter Daisy, now aged 11.
The journey prompted the Botany Bay family to open the interactive gallery in Fort Road.
Minster Village Art Show organiser Diana White said: “I believe (the art show) is the longest running village art show. It was started as a fundraising event to raise funds for the village hall in Minster. It has always been very popular and was once was the largest show in the area with anything between 200 to 500 hundred pieces of art.”
The show takes place at Minster Village Hall on Friday, October 2 from 7pm-9pm; October 3 from 10am to 6pm and October 4 from 10am to 4pm.
Admission is £1, catalogues are 50p.
