Thanet has stormed into The Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Local Restaurants with four entries
Wine bar Cantina Caruso, in Margate, hits the number two spot. It is run by Simona Di Dio and Harry Ryder – who also head up neighbouring Bottego Caruso which hit the nationals last year after pop icon Madonna visited.

At 48 is Mori Mori, in Cliftonville, which serves up award-winning Japanese izakaya and ramen and is owned and run by Kate de Syllas. https://www.mori-mori.co.uk/
Fifteen Square Metres in Broadstairs comes in at number 60. The tiny venue, run by Tony and Becky Rodd, offers a seasonal, gluten-free, frequently changing, small plates menu. https://www.fifteensquaremetres.co.uk/
At 64 comes Bar Ingo, also in Broadstairs, and run by father and son team Tomas and Rio Eriksson.
The Good Food Guide praised Bar Ingo as “a tiny neighbourhood spot and then some”, highlighting its “exemplary small sharing plates with their emphatic no-nonsense flavours”.
Since opening, the intimate open-kitchen restaurant has built a loyal following for its Basque-inspired sharing plates, carefully curated wine list and relaxed atmosphere.
In 2025, Bar Ingo first earned its place in the Good Food Guide and was also named one of OpenTable’s Top 100 Restaurants in the UK, an accolade driven entirely by outstanding customer reviews.
Tomas said: “To be recognised by The Good Food Guide as one of Britain’s 100 Best Local Restaurants is something we’re incredibly proud of. To be ranked 64th in the country is a huge honour, particularly when you look at the quality of restaurants featured alongside us.

The restaurant has expanded its opening hours to meet growing demand, serving lunch and dinner from Monday to Saturday, with a popular lunch menu that includes its Spanish-inspired sharing boards and the Anthony Bourdain-inspired mortadella grilled cheese sandwich.
