A police appeal has been issued after a pensioner was bitten by a dog in Ramsgate.
The man needed hospital treatment for injuries to his arm following the incident in Royal Esplanade on June 17.
The man’s daughter said: “My father, who is a pensioner, was attacked by a German Shepherd without warning. The dog was on a lead but randomly latched onto his arm leading to him requiring hospital treatment.
“He was in shock but will fortunately be okay but if it was a child the outcome would have been a lot worse.”
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at around 2pm on Wednesday 17 June, after a man was bitten by a dog in Royal Esplanade, Ramsgate.
“He suffered injuries to his arm and required hospital treatment.
“An investigation is ongoing, which includes the review of local CCTV footage.
“Witnesses, including those with dashcam, should contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/64201/26. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or you can use the online form.”
right now wait for all the standard stupid excuses = the owners fault , the heat , blah blah blah , find the thing and destroy it ! it will do it again , and probably has before , they should not be on our streets

…and after being treated for blood poisoning, the dog was allowed home.
i was referring to the excuses people make for dogs on here , i was in no way saying the owner was blameless , in fact if i had my way , both of them should be taken to the vets for the treatment . people seem to think its acceptable for dogs to bite people – i for one do not – end of
