Community Safety Officers have been carrying out high-visibility patrols across Thanet, focusing on antisocial behaviour hotspots.
Two people have been arrested in relation to dispersal order breaches and several have been dispersed at different isle locations.
This week TikTok ‘influencer’ Lankz Ino was also served with a community protection warning banning him from the isle, as first revealed by Chief Inspector Ian Swallow, District Commander for Thanet, earlier this month.
Lankz, who made a widely circulated video during the disturbances in Broadstairs last month, was issued the warning for his part in ‘inciting’ a mass gathering which played a part in shops and businesses shutting their doors early due to thefts, intimidation and nuisance behaviour.
Pro-active policing continues on the isle to clamp down on any attempts to disrupt the town.
In a message to residents, PC Joseph Yoofoo, from the Thanet Neighbourhood task force, said: “(Yesterday) we engaged with a wide range of people, including youths visiting our beaches . Despite responding to several incidents — including a disruptive music event which had to be disbanded due to numerous complaints and reuniting a missing child with their family — we maintained a visible and reassuring presence.
“Most people we spoke to were simply enjoying the warm weather with friends and family in our welcoming district. Several individuals were dispersed across different areas to prevent ASB, and two arrests were made in relation to the ongoing dispersals.
“We will continue to take action and work with the community to keep Thanet safe and enjoyable for everyone during this lovely weather.”
This oaf isn’t an ‘influencer’, just a thug that causes trouble. It’s good the police are showing a presence in Broadstairs. As for the grotty little shops selling alcohol to these under-age trouble makers, if they carry it on this summer simply close their shops down permanently.
