St Ethelbert’s Primary in Ramsgate has been awarded the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) – a year-long professional development and accreditation programme for primary schools in the UK.
Designed to raise the profile and quality of science education, it provides school science leaders with the training and a framework to evaluate their science curriculum and teaching practices.
The school worked alongside expert hub-leaders to achieve the nationally recognised award.
Science subject coordinator Mr Pressley had to build a strong, evidence-based vision for science in the school and complete a structured cycle of self-assessment, action planning, and reflection.
The award is the only school science improvement programme promoted and validated by Ofsted and the accredited PSQM status remains valid for three years.
