A free Thrive After 50 event will be taking place in Margate tomorrow (May 28).
The event will feature support, activities, advice and community connections for residents across Thanet between 11am – 3pm at Hartsdown Academy.
On offer will be wellbeing & mental health support – community groups & local services – Veteran support organisations – finance & care advice – activities and demonstrations throughout the day – plus free raffle tickets for everyone attending.
Some 70 organisations and businesses will be attending. Although designed with the over 50s in mind, families and all ages are welcome to come along as there will be plenty to do.
District councillor Jack Packman said: “ I’m incredibly proud to see so many organisations, businesses and community groups coming together for our Thrive After 50 event.
“This is all about making sure residents know what support, opportunities and activities are available right here in Thanet. Whether you’re looking for wellbeing advice, social connections, financial guidance or simply a great day out in the community, there will be something for everyone.
“We want people to feel supported, valued and connected, and I’d encourage residents of all ages to come along, get involved and enjoy the day.”
I loooved being 50, I was at my absolute peak fitness back then (mind you, being 63 ain’t too bad either!).

I’m past my prime, but managed a great cycle ride from Birchington to Herne Bay today (via Boyden Gate, Highstead and Broomfield, really beautiful and peaceful out there).
