An Afternoon of Indie daytime event for over 30s is heading to Cliftonville for the first time, after selling out in more than 18 cities across the country.
The event will be hosted at The Drill Shed, at The Lido, on May 3.
Created by Age Against The Machine and Old School Indie it’s an unpretentious afternoon of dancing from 3pm to 7pm.
As with Age against the Machine anyone under 30 is banned and those over must bring I.D.

Not sure why we need to ban the under 30s can’t we all enjoy music in the day together? Seems a bonkers policy.

Neither are the artists they list-yes Bowie, the Beatles & Stones did some experimental stuff, but indie artists/bands-three of the biggest selling music artists ever? Since when were the Kinks ever anything other than a hard rocking pop band?
The very idea you could turn up to an indie event & hear The Housemartins but not The Fall is farcical.

Also the list of music artists being played are hugely popular-David Bowie is indie? The Kinks? Nirvana? Madness? Oasis? Blur? Radiohead? Blondie? The Who? Rolling Stones? Beatles? Just sounds like the biggest artists in history that Mick Tee or any other oldies Thanet DJ plays, pretty much the ‘uncool’ Radio 2 setlist of the Smashie & Nicey types. Yet no mention of The Fall, Wire, Wedding Present, My Bloody Valentine, Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, Beefheart, Velvet Underground etc! Clearly not sold anywhere enough records to be real Indie man-I mean Waterloo Sunset, Ruby Tuesday, Love Me Do, The Tide Is High, Our House etc were totally Avantgarde & uncommercial indie man!
Have a day off you boring, drain out of an elitist nause. If you don’t like it doesn’t cater exactly to your specific tastes and self entitlement, don’t go, or even better, put your own night on and stfu.
