Born of a cross-pollination between Totnes and Sheffield, Pale Blue Eyes have been steadily grafting over a number of years to exact their modernist pop vision.
At the ship’s helm, Matt and Lucy Board are a genuine marriage of two stylistic perspectives, each bringing unique sonic tropes to the table. It is the pair’s fascination with DIY ethic, retro synths and reminiscence that truly fuels their sound world, calling upon nostalgia and a captivating optimism.
The third part of the Pale Blue Eyes triad arrived when Matt and Lucy met bassist Aubrey Simpson at South Devon’s Sea Change festival.
Together they’ve made three albums, with several tracks from the albums playlisted at BBC Radio 6 Music.

This three-way dialogue will explore Black women’s interiority, quietude, and intellectual and emotional labour in relation to the sculptural practice of Simone Leigh.
Bringing together curatorial, artistic, and literary voices, the event will examine how Leigh’s anonymised figures embody presence and self-possession while refusing capture.
The format will balance conversation with poetic and textual offerings, creating an atmosphere of tenderness and depth that connects sculpture, writing, and Black feminist thought.

Galentines day started out in a book by Leslie Knope ‘Parks and Recreation’… a day for women to celebrate friendships.
Join this relaxed workshop and spend the evening making mosaic hearts. There is a mix of high quality glass tiles, ceramic tiles, stones and even some old ceramic pieces ready to be smashed.
This class is perfect for beginners and everything will be provided, including soft drinks and cake.

Muddy Good Fun: Goldilocks & the Bears

Muddy Good Fun event this February half-term, with an all-new fairy-tale themed experience: Muddy Good Fun: Goldilocks & the Bears.
The immersive event is included as part of the standard Farm Park day ticket, with online booking now open.
This year’s Muddy Good Fun promises the biggest and most imaginative programme yet, inviting families to step into the classic story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Children will be able to explore the Bear Woods along a dedicated Goldilocks woodland trail, meet Goldilocks and Baby Bear, and take part in a full schedule of interactive activities including story time sessions, messy play, a puppet show and a teddy bear picnic.
Designed especially for younger visitors, the event blends creative play, outdoor exploration and storytelling, encouraging children to engage their imaginations while enjoying Quex’s farm park setting.

Proud 2 Create 10 marks a decade of Sandra Art4All, a pioneering studio founded by artist and educator Sandra Hampton to support 11 deaf, autistic and neurodivergent artists.
The exhibition brings together over 150 vibrant works spanning drawing, painting and photography, celebrating the joy of making art and the power of diverse creative voices. Exhibiting artists include Celia Balfour, Nessie Bigg, Katie Byrne, Allegra Dams, Bethany Davies, Olivia Joslin, Dalibor Kovac-Stokes, Alex Mortimer, Jessica Park, Harriet Steddy, Gareth Tudor and Sandra Hampton.
Over the past ten years, the artists have grown in confidence and skill, with some exhibiting at prestigious venues including the Royal Academy and Turner Contemporary. Alongside artistic development, the studio has supported artists to experience the full creative process, from making and exhibiting to selling their work, ensuring artists receive the majority of profits from sales. This milestone exhibition in The Cupboard at Liminal Gallery honours their shared journey and stands as a testament to creativity, community and the beauty of difference.
The Cupboard at Liminal Gallery offers local artists a free exhibition space to experiment, take risks and connect with new audiences, maintaining the gallery’s strong connection to its Margate community.
All are warmly invited to celebrate the opening of Proud 2 Create 10 on Saturday 14 February at Liminal Gallery’s The Cupboard, from 2–4pm. The earlier opening time has been chosen to ensure that all the artists are able to attend and fully take part in this important celebration.

Carnevale

A family friendly mini event celebrating the beautiful diversity of our community.
Carnevale in Venice is an important festival for both adults and children — it’s an occasion to dress up and celebrate with friends and family.
The celebrations last several days and culminate on Martedì Grasso (Mardi Gras). During Carnival people eat sweet treats like fritole (fluffy balls of fried dough enriched with candied fruits and raisins) and galani (fried sheets of pastry covered in icing sugar) and many more.
This year Windmill Community Gardens are introducing these celebrations, with a festival of costumes and music, fun and traditional food.
Feast on a variety of traditional Carnival sweet treats from Venice (savoury options will be available as well.) Also mulled apple juice to keep you warm!

Kids Pottery Class

For children aged 5-16, each 90 minute class has a different theme and includes step-by-step guidance from the tutors. There is of course always plenty of room for individual flair and expression! This is not paint-a-pot, this is creating your very own pottery masterpiece from scratch!
In the last half an hour of the class, the kids can go to town decorating their pieces with colour. They will then lovingly glaze and fire their masterpieces, ready to collect 3/4 weeks later.
The price includes materials and firing.
