Westgate Bay Avenue in Westgate is currently closed to traffic following a fire incident this morning (December 12).
Police, fire crews, paramedics and gas workers were called to a property, understood to be a flat at Greville Lodge, in the road at around 6am.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Officers are currently at the scene of a fire at a property in Westgate Bay Avenue, Westgate.
“Kent Police was called to the incident at 6.09am along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service. The road is closed to traffic while emergency services remain at the scene.”
Five fire engines and a height vehicle attended the scene and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel and main jets to extinguish the fire.
The cause is not yet known.
