Seven Thanet projects are among those that will receive a share of Kent Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Scott’s Police Property Act Fund.
A total of 48 Kent and Medway applicants will share the £86,511 fund.
This fund uses money from the sale of property seized by Kent Police which cannot be returned to its rightful owner, supporting projects that make a positive difference in local communities.
The awarded bids comprise programs aimed at crime and anti-social behaviour prevention, providing support for victims and vulnerable individuals, and enhancing community safety and overall wellbeing.
The Thanet Projects:
Beyond the Page– £2000 for United Mothers in Margate and Ramsgate. These groups are aimed at women who do not speak English as a first language and are led by a Programme Manager and a qualified ESOL practitioner and teacher.
Thanet Disabled Riding Centre– £2000 to help provide individual tailored riding and therapy sessions to children and adults with many different physical and mental disabilities, vulnerabilities and special educational needs.
Cliffsend Village – £500 to help keep The Youth Club open in 2026 to continue supporting young people to make new friends, stay out of trouble and have fun.
GRASS Cliftonville– £2000 will go towards a community gardening programme at The Oval Bandstand & Lawns.
Millmead Community Centre – £1963 to aid in the costs in continuing to run the youth group that is already established.
Oasis Domestic Abuse Service- £2000 for the cost of 300 calls within a helpline for people affected by domestic abuse.
The Residents Association of Paradise and the Ramsgate Historic Quarter Scheme– £1750 to help create a community garden and mural in Ramsgate to bring the community together as a recognised safe place for all.
Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Scott said: “I am delighted that we can reinvest this money back into Kent communities. This funding will help prevent crime and anti-social behaviour, support victims and vulnerable people, and improve the safety of Kent. I am looking forward to visiting some of the beneficiaries and seeing their good work first hand.”
