Detectives are seeking witnesses following a serious assault at a pub in Birchington.
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, which happened at the Seaview Pub and Hotel in the early hours of today (November 22).
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to the Station Road premises, at 00.30am. Patrols and ambulance crews attended and two men were taken to hospital. They suffered multiple injuries including leg and facial wounds, which are not life-threatening.
“Enquiries later led to the arrests of two male suspects, in connection with causing grievous bodily harm and both have been taken into custody.”
Armed police arrested one man in St Mildred’s Road, Westgate, while the other was arrested in Birchington.
Investigating officers are urging witnesses, including anyone who may have phone footage, to contact them. If you have information which may assist the investigation, contact Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting 46/200642/25.

I love Ramsgate. That’s why I want a migrant camp built at the former port, to help create jobs for the town.
Clearly these two suspects have travelled over from Ramsgate to cause this havoc, and should be deported back there as soon as possible.

It’s all the DFM’s (Down From Margate).
That pub has always been bad news for Birchington.
The one thing Birchington lacks these days are decent pubs. The Powell Arms has been very hit and miss over the years, and the once classy pub at Minnis Bay is now like an over-priced Wetherspoons with table numbers and self-service (I’m sure the micropubs are OK, but I like a nice meal with my pint!).
I live in the posh part of Ramsgate and I enjoy Birchington shops and popping into Brills for a few odd and ends.
I live in Birchington and use to enjoy Ramsgate shops, but we were genuinely scared last time of youngsters deliberately aiming their bikes and scooters at elderly people coming out of the few shops there – and won’t be returning. We do visit Broadstairs, Herne Bay, Faversham, Whitstable, Sandwich, Canterbury, Deal and Rochester quite regularly though!
