Police officers called to assist Kent Fire and Rescue Service at a house fire in Broadstairs on Saturday (May 17) uncovered a cannabis cultivation with more than 100 plants.
Seven fire engines attended the house fire in King Edward Avenue, at 11.33pm. There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.
Witnesses report a forensics team at the site with a police cordon at the house and alley at the rear.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to a report of a house fire in King Edward Avenue, Broadstairs at around 11.50pm on Saturday 17 May.
“Officers attended to assist at the scene while Kent Fire and Result extinguished the fire.
“At the scene, a cannabis cultivation containing more than 100 plants was located within the building. Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.”
I assume most of the locals felt intensely relaxed about this—for a while at least.

thanet much be one of the leading cultivation areas for drugs, these places seem to be found all too often , but not by police work but by this type of thing , or the public reporting them , but i can only imagine the drug factories that are beavering away unoticed ?
