Four fire engines and the height vehicle attended a report of a person on the roof at QEQM Hospital yesterday (April 15).
Crews were called at 3.05pm to the St Peter’s Road side of the hospital. The person was brought to safety.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called yesterday afternoon to reports of a person on the roof of the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.
“Four fire engines and a height vehicle attended, and crews worked with Kent Police, to bring the person to safety, where they were then handed into the care of SECamb paramedics.”
Crews finished at the scene at 4.38pm.
It has been a requirement for many years that access to hospital roofs should remain locked at all times to prevent patients and the public gaining access.
I hope the family checks that an untoward incident report was completed about this situation. In my experience QEQM cover up their errors by not completing, and reporting to government, when they make mistakes and things go wrong.
one way of getting an appointment i suppose ?
Perhaps he was trying to nick the lead off the roof ?
If he was on a trolley, perhaps the corridors were full !
