It was a day of flipping great fun in Westgate as people of all ages got involved in the annual pancake races.
The event was held in Station Road today (March 4) with children, residents and businesses all taking part and receiving participation certificates and, for winners, medals.
Town councillors and staff acted as stewards and the Margate Ambulance Corps was on hand to assist with first aid.

WTC employee’s did the run also. This proving that they can move faster when there is something worth rushing for. Thankfully for them it wasn’t a time and motion study. :-)
My name is Vic James, an employee of WTC (Maintenance Man). At 68yrs. I was the oldest participant in the race. The event was very positive for the town community. However, I would like to ask you to clarify your comments as I am unsure what you might be implying. Are you suggesting that WTC employees are in some way workshy or even lazy? I am one of the team that works very hard on a part-time basis, just for the record.
