Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision involving a pedestrian and a car in Westwood on Friday (February 28) .
The male pedestrian in his 60s suffered serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital, where he remains receiving treatment.
The incident took place between 6.30pm and 6.40pm on Margate Road, near the roundabout with New Cross Road.
The vehicle involved, a blue Ford, stopped at the scene and the driver was spoken to by officers.
Police are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances and urge anyone who saw what happened, or has dashcam footage, to call 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/34472/25.
That area is becoming more dangerous than taking a stroll along the M6. Barely a week goes by without a report of a crash or somebody getting hit there.
It’s only going to get worse, more house building more vehicles in Thanet, drivers driving like prats, TDC and the police need to start calming the drivers in Thanet ,they think it’s okay to race around the streets and stuff stopping at red traffic lights or crossing, and Law is to easy on drivers that brake this law and hurting or killing people on crossing.

There are too many pedestrians being hit by fast moving traffic on that road. The road safety along the Margate-Ramsgate Road is one of the worst in the country yet Kent County Council refuse to make it safer for pedestrians.
The poor guy is known to me and is critical in Kings College hospital London.
