Police are urging anyone with information to come forward after a report of a man grabbing a teenage girl by the arm in a bid to persuade her to come and ‘see his van.’
It is understood the girl was pushed against a fence before she managed to shove the man away and run off.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “It was reported to Kent Police on Friday 13 December that a 15 year old girl had been approached by a man unknown to her on Cinder Foothpath, Broadstairs at around 10.40am that morning.
“The man attempted to engage the teenager in conversation and grabbed her arm, before she left the area on foot.
“Officers attended and carried out enquiries. The man was described as white and around 5 ft 8 inches tall, aged between 50 and 60, wearing black clothing and a snood.”
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are urging anyone with relevant information, including doorbell footage or CCTV, to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 13-0465.
