Code-breaker challenges has tested the Maths skills and teamwork of children at St Gregory’s Catholic Primary in Margate.
The special escape room style tasks saw pupils pit their wits to solve a range of subject-specific puzzles.
The immersive initiative involved the groups unlocking a code and plotting it on their own map using co-ordinates linked to World War Two.
Each phase engaged in a distinctive maths activity, participating in a series of interactive and practical challenges that were skilfully crafted by drama and media content including immersive video.
Athanasia Papa-Adams, Maths Lead and Head of Upper Key Stage 2, said: “This experience was an exhilarating adventure in practical, hands-on mathematics, filled with opportunities for mathematical reasoning and problem-solving.
“Our children worked collaboratively in teams as they navigated through various maths challenge zones. The innovative approach delivered by the Subject Revolution team included modern, interactive experiences that are not only educational but also creatively engaging.
“The children were immersed in an action-adventure game, wrapped in a captivating narrative full of intrigue and jeopardy. Each activity was different but captivated the children as they applied their maths skills to solve each puzzle.
“It is important for our children to see Maths as a hands on, fun concept. Every child came away feeling that they had achieved. It was wonderful to see the collaboration and competition in groups.”
Head Teacher Dave Walker added: “The pupils were thoroughly engaged in an immersive action-adventure game with Maths at the core.
“It was educational and exciting and perfectly highlighted our positive belief that learning should be fun.”
