A new Taco Bell outlet is set to open its doors at Westwood Cross on December 11.
The food chain venue will be operating a 30 cover restaurant and takeaway in the former Debenhams building alongside fellow businesses Hollywood Bowl, Riparo and Jump INC.
The business is expected to create 20 jobs, comprising 8 full-time and 12 part-time roles. Planning permission for the outlet was granted in September.
Tacos, Quesadillas, Nachos and Burritos and more will be available from the chain which was established in California in 1962 and is now a global brand with 8,200+ restaurants in over 32 countries around the world.
The world’s largest Mexican-inspired quick service brand has nearby outlets in Dover, Folkestone and Canterbury.
Taco Bell will be open daily from 11am-11pm and is located next to Riparo Lounge.

With the ever increasing population it could well be the next area to have the largest obese problems followed, drug issues followed by social issues and unemployment……not necessarily in the right order.

Hi Mark. YOu don’t have to eat at these places. Why not reccomend some of your favourite Thanet eateries instead of being bigoted towards obese people (many of whom are that way because of medical issues?)?

The only things that makes you fat is eating too much or eating too much of the wrong type of food or drinking too much of the wrong type of drink.
It has always struck me as strange that nobody held as a prisoner of war by the Germans or Japanese were seen in the film or pictures of their release to be suffering from ”medical obesity”.

Thanet is already well up there in the obesity league tables and is apparently considered to be No.1 for the percentage of obese mothers giving birth.
As you say between excess weight, drugs and worklessness thanet balzes a trail the nation seems to keen (for its own good ) to follow.

your saying obesse people like most have a choice just because someone is obesse could mean they have an underlying condition that you don’t know about people see alot of obesse people and think they just eat & eat sorry that’s just not the case you don’t know their circumstances ie they may not be able to get out n about because of sever pain or a very serious injury that they can’t exercise I actually think your rude I really hope you you don’t suffer and end up like some of these people then you can be judged think before you judge others on their appearance but you know the saying never judge a book by its cover that’s the same for people
Then again, they could just eat too much and not exercise enough – just like most fat people I know, family included!
“Could” yes in a vanishingly small number of cases, but for the vast majority it’s purely a case of consuming far more calories than needed, and that includes those who can’t get out and about, they’ll only be storing weight as a result of excess calories being stored as fat.
There are those with medical problems that result in excess weight but they represent a tiny minority.

Somebody that cannot get get out and about because of pain or injury simply does not need to eat as much because they are not burning those calories.
Sitting in their armchair and ordering a large pizza and a two litre bottle of coke every day is the root of their problem
They need some bookies up there to go with all the fast food joints.

Agree these people just moan and moan about everything,always negative ,just ask a person who has just starting a new job for the first time ,happy to have an income .And why bring concentration camps and pow camps into it.No one is offering theses people to eat there ,but their rules are always right ,nobody but nobody is allowed an opinion of different from theirs ,including lifestyle bet theirs is perfect,if a person is overweight it’s not people’s on this sites problem,Why don’t these critics start their own party to ban these places,won’t do that they will have yet up off their backsides and do something
