An arrest has been made after a van stopped by police in Ramsgate was discovered to contain cannabis plants.

Shortly after midnight into today  (October 1), a patrol was on duty in Hollicondane Road when they had reason to stop the vehicle.

On speaking to the driver, officers became suspicious over his responses to their questions, prompting a search of the van.

During the search, boxes and bags were found, containing soil and growing equipment, as well as a number of plants.

A 26-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply. He remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing.

  1. It’s a pity the police didn’t say “okay mate on your way” after discreetly putting a tracker on the van to see who he was delivering / collecting to or from and where did he where he drove back to. He is the obviously just a small fish from a big pound.
