Broadstairs aesthetics business owner scoops two industry awards

Kate won 1st and 2nd place awards at the PMU Festival

A Broadstairs aesthetics business owner has won two awards at the UK PMU Festival which was held in Barham earlier this month.

Kate Illingworth has been running Revida Aesthetics for the last three years from her home-based clinic and from a site in Canterbury after completing training in semi-permanent makeup (SPMU) and lash treatments.

Mum-of-one Kate, who is also a physiotherapist, took first place in the eyeliner category for entrants with two years or more experience and 2nd place in the hairstrokes category.

The 37-year-old took the plunge into PMU (permanent make-up/make-up tattooing) during covid.

Having her own brows done because an underactive thyroid had caused hair loss gave her a boost and set her on the path to offering her own treatments.

Kate says business has continued to grow. She added: “I do eye liner, eyebrows and lip blush and am specialising in removals and corrections for older works.

“Business has been growing and I am now taking bookings into late September.

“The festival event included lots of demos with artists and speakers from the PMU world and a big party!”
