St Laurence Junior Academy Summer Fair a resounding success

Getting set for the Summer fair

The St Laurence CE Junior Academy was abuzz with excitement as it hosted its annual Summer Fair on a sun-drenched day on June 30.

The fair, held on the school field, saw a vibrant turnout from the community, with families, children, and staff all coming together to enjoy a day of fun-filled activities, raising more than £800 for the school community.

Headteacher Sarah Graham said: “Our Summer Fair this year has been a wonderful team effort bringing together our families, children, staff, and governors in a fabulous community effort in raising funds for the children of St. Laurence. We thank the church of St Laurence, the local community, staff and parent volunteers and of course our brilliant PTFA for making it such a great success.”

The fair featured attractions, including a lively tombola stall, various games, food stalls, and a grand raffle with enticing prizes donated by local businesses and families.

Sue Andrews, Chair of the PTFA, said: “Thank you so much to all the parents, children, and all the staff volunteers on the day of the fair and all their kind donations on the non-uniform days. We had a great selection of prizes on our tombola stall.

“A big thank you to all local companies and families for their donations for the grand raffle prizes. It was a great sunny day and a great overall total to spend on our St Laurence children over the next few terms.”

The highlight of the day was  the community spirit that shone through, making the event not only a fundraiser but a celebration of togetherness and support. The funds raised from the fair will be directed towards enriching the educational experiences of the students at St Laurence.
