Margate’s first Big 7 national scooter rally for 17 years will take place this weekend.
The British Scooter Rallies event is being held at Dreamland from June 21-23 and some 2,000 scooterists are expected to attend.
The rally will include live bands, a parts fair, custom show, South Coast Pirates scooter club ride out and camping for 600 people at Palm Bay green with others booking Air BnBs.
The event has sponsorship from Margate Mod and Skinhead clothing store Rat Race and Thanet scooterists will lead the ride out along with the VCB Thanet & South Coast Pirates Scooter Club around the coast and into Ramsgate.
Scooterists on the ride-out will meet along the Harbour Arm at noon on Saturday for a 12.30pm set off.

3 Rooms Of Music
Soul Room is within the Grade 2 listed Ballroom, with Soul, Northern and dance DJ’s. Danny Peach and the KTF Soul Club (Essex) will be hosting the room.
Hall By The Sea will have three live bands each evening.
The Roller Room will host Dave Porter & Minxy and a list of other top DJ’s.
Across the weekend bands will include Sex Pistols Exposé, Dad Manners, Springtide Cavalry, Red Hot Riot, Scam 69 and more.
National Custom Show
The National Custom Show will be hosted inside Dreamland between 11am and 3.30pm on Saturday, June 22. The show is free entry and open to the public. It will host some of the top custom show scooters in the country along with a variety of others. There will be 13 trophies up for grabs.
Traders Market & Parts Fair
The Parts Fair and Market Place will be hosted inside Dreamland on the main walkway also on June 22. The Parts fair is free entry and is open to the public, between 10am and 3.30pm.

Tickets need to be bought in advance and start at £33.25 (including booking fee).

Would the police like to keep a close eye on these scooter riders tearing round the coastal roads in huge numbers, breaking the speed limit on narrow roads and with the numbers involved creating an intolerable noise for those unfortunate enough to live on these roads?
