Happy Reading Children’s Bookshop opens in St Peter’s

A new children’s bookshop has opened in St Peter’s.

The Happy Reading Children’s Bookshop is in collaboration with Staple, an artisanal baker and café with multiple sites across Thanet including Broadstairs, Margate, Ramsgate and Westgate.

Founded by multi-award winning bookseller, Nicci Rosengarten, the new children’s book shop is at Staple Broadstairs in Reading Street. Staple uses traditional techniques and seasonal ingredients to create handmade breads and pastries.

Thanet mum and The Kids Books Curator  founder Nicci says outreach with local schools, home educators and other children’s services is a priority. In-store events will happen regularly, including a free children’s story-time on Friday mornings. Teachers receive a 10% discount on books in store with a school ID.

Hours are Thursday – Saturday 10am -2pm, extended in the school holidays

Free story times are on Fridays 9.30am -10am.

There will also be a half term event on Friday, May 31 -Once Upon a Storytime’ storytime and draw-along with children’s illustrator, Natelle Quek

Two sessions available: 10am-10.30am or 11.30am-noon. For ages 3+

Tickets are £5 and include a copy of the book
