MOS Showtime makes its way to Ramsgate with performances at the newly refurbished Granville Theatre this month following many years of being staged at the now closed Margate Winter Gardens.

This year’s showtime brings you a night at the musicals with numbers from the ultra-new shows such as Everybody’s Talking About Jamie; Waitress; The Prom and Dear Evan Hansen, through to Six and Hamilton to Moulin Rouge; Jesus Christ Superstar and We Will Rock You.

Showtime 2024 has been jointly directed and choreographed by MOS members Donna Clements and Amy Simpson.

It also reunites members of the MOS team from last year’s production of The Addams Family.

Molly Knight, vocal coach, is joined by Stephen Porter, who leads the recently formed acapella singing group Pick a Note, and Brya Porter as children’s choreographer, who has trained the youngsters with a “Billy Elliot” selection.

For history buffs the first Showtime was staged at the old, now demolished Lido Theatre in Cliftonville in 1972, but it had its roots in a series of one-off fundraisers for MOS including Autumn Serenade in 1970 followed by Summer Serenade in 1971 both of which were performed at the Granville Theatre.
