Charity shop fashion show returns to Ramsgate’s Radford House

Ramsgate's charity shop fashion show returns this June

Ramsgate’s seven charity shops are teaming up to bring the 2024 charity shop fashion show to the catwalk at Radford House.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 22 and follows on from the success of last year’ show with compere Julie Forsyth which raised more than £1000.

People of all ages and sizes will be volunteer models to reassert the inclusive nature of this initiative. Last year 32 individuals took to the catwalk, none had previous experience of  with the oldest over 80 and the youngest aged six.

Encouraged by a hugely supportive audience, the models went from nervous to confident in seconds.

All items paraded during the show will be available for sale at the end of the evening to maximise the amount raised for each of the charity shops – RSPCA, Pilgrim’s Hospices, TAG Pet Rescue, Cats In Crisis, Cancer Research UK, British Red Cross and Shelter.

This year there are two new aspects to the show:

Unique Creations – a competition for all those who love creative upcycling.

A live auction of the best dozen or so items.

The fun-packed evening will have a bar and interval music from a local Ukelele band.

Doors opens at 6.30pm. Tickets  cost £10 and will be available from all the charity shops and via Ticket Tailor online from May 22.

The following day (June 23) Radford House will host a Summer fair from 11am – 3pm. The charity shops will be among those with stalls, plus local crafts and bric a brac. The weekend is aimed at encouraging recycling and upcycling.
