Westbrook Bowls Club is hoping to welcome new members at an open day this Sunday 5th May.
The lawn bowls club based on the cliffs at Westbrook bay will be open between 10am and noon and then 2pm and 4pm, all are welcome to attend.
The clubhouse and greens are managed and operated by its members.
The outdoor bowls season runs from the end of April until the end of September and the club play friendly and league matches and competitions. Throughout the bowling season they have roll-ups known as Umbrella’s on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon from 1:45pm for a 2pm start.
For beginners the club coach offers sessions on a Monday afternoon at 2pm, the first three sessions are free.
During the year the club holds fun days and charity days. Between the beginning of October and the end of March there is an indoor fun programme of cards, carpet bowls, darts and table tennis.
The club is also happy to host for other institutions as well so if you belong to any other social clubs and bowls might be of interest get in touch and they can organise a taster session.
