A diversion is in place following a crash in Canterbury Road, Westbrook- heading into Westgate- this evening (March 24).
A car has hit the island. The section has been closed by police and drivers are being diverted along St James Park Road.
The crash is understood to involve one vehicle and took place at around 6.20pm.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called just before 6pm on Sunday 24 March to a report that a car had collided with a lamppost on Canterbury Road, Margate near to the junction with St James’ Park Road.
“Officers attended and the road was closed while work took place to clear debris. Minor injuries were reported.
“The road reopened later that evening.”
