EuroClash – A battle of voices to be held in Cliftonville

Some Voices choir

By media student Ella Reynolds-Phillips

Do you enjoy watching the Eurovision? Are you bored of waiting for May to come so you can sing and cheer along with everyone quicker? Well, wait no more!

Thanet’s Some Voices choir is performing its own singing battle, entirely inspired by the Eurovision.

Some Voices was founded in 2010, by Laura Howe, originally starting as a gathering between friends to sing and socialise. Since then, they have grown to more than 1400 members across 15 locations including a branch in Amsterdam.

The choir focuses on creating a supportive setting for everyone, no matter their singing experience – it’s a place to socialise and create memories with others, growing together as a community.

The EuroClash performances will be held from the dates 21st March – 14th April, in locations all around Britain, including by members of the recently opened branch in Cliftonville.

The branch opened in September 2023 and is based at Ark in Albion Road. It is currently being led by Catherine Courtley, an experienced vocal leader who has been running and working with musical groups and choirs since 2016.

The EuroClash performance will be held at Margate Arts Club,276 Northdown Road,  on March 28 from 7.30pm.

The performance will also raise money for Thanet Food Link. This charity has been running since 2013, formally becoming a charity in 2016, and provides emergency food bank services from distribution points at St Paul’s Church Margate and St Peter’s the Baptist Church.

Tickets are  £6 and are on sale now on DICE: https://dice.fm/partner/some-voices/event/93n97-euroclash-margate-28th-mar-margate-arts-club-margate-tickets?
