Man jailed for stabbing victim multiple times in Garlinge

Craig Judd has been jailed

A man who stabbed his victim during an altercation in Garlinge has been jailed.

Craig Judd was arrested after a man suffered multiple stab wounds during the dispute in Fulham Avenue in the early hours of Sunday 13 August 2023.

Emergency services attended the scene and the victim was taken to a London hospital for life-saving treatment.

Officers quickly established that Judd had been involved in the dispute, during which he had suffered an eye injury.

Witnesses told police they had seen Judd shouting before swinging a knife at the victim. Judd had then discouraged members of the public from helping the injured man, a witness reported.

Judd was arrested and later charged with attempted murder. He admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article at Canterbury Crown Court in November 2023.

The 25-year-old, of Fulham Road, Garlinge, was brought before the same court on Friday 1 March and jailed for seven and a half years.

Detective Sergeant Alper Ay, from East Kent CID, said: “Tackling knife crime is a priority for Kent Police and we take a zero-tolerance approach to carrying knives and weapons at all times.

“Judd was quickly identified, arrested and charged for this horrific attack and I hope the fact that he is now in prison provides some reassurance to the local community.”
