Former adult education centre in Ramsgate back up for auction

35 Chapel Place is to be auctioned

A former adult education building in Ramsgate is relisted for auction with a £520,000-plus guide price.

Built in the 18th century, 35 Chapel Place has served previously as a house and vicarage and, most recently, the adult education centre.

The substantial period property has permission to be converted into seven flats,

It is among 147 lots listed for sale by Clive Emson, the land and property auctioneers, in its next sale. It was previously offered last month with a guide price of £600,000-plus.

Jon Rimmer, auction appraiser, said: “This is a substantial period property close to local amenities and the Royal Marina.

“Some work has been carried out on the building and it is now vacant so work can start.

“The flats will be a mixture one- and two-bedrooms and builders and developers are likely to be interested.”

The auction closes on March 20 and can be found here
