Road in Margate blocked after strong winds bring down tree

A road is blocked in Margate due to a tree coming down in today’s strong winds.

Kent Highways is aware of the incident in Northdown Park Road. Highways workers have had to attend a number of incidents today (February 26).

A Kent Highways spokesperson said: “Our highway steward has attended the site this morning and installed cones and tape.

“The road is closed as the tree blocks both lanes – traffic is advised to seek an alternative route.

“Tree surgeons will be there as soon as possible to clear the route.”

Kent Highways have had multiple reports of weather related issues across the Kent road network due to the inclement weather.
