There will be continued disruption to Southeastern services due to a landslip at Newington in Swale on Friday (February 23).

On Friday several services were cancelled on the down line to Ramsgate with bus substitution implemented.

Engineers assessed the full situation over Friday evening and trains ceased running at the weekend on the route between Rainham and Gillingham.

The line will remain closed all this week and early into next work while Network Rail work to stabilise the earthworks.

No High Speed service to St Pancras will operate direct and there are no London bound services via Faversham and Gillingham. High Speed via Ashford and to Charing Cross and Victoria are not affected but allow extra time via Ashford and Maidstone to Victoria due to a longer route.

The affected line is expected to reopen on Monday 4 March.

The following trains will run on Monday 26 February;

Gillingham to London Victoria via Denmark Hill

Rochester to London St Pancras International

Ramsgate to Sittingbourne

Dover Priory to Sittingbourne

These trains will run hourly, except during the morning rush hour when there will be two trains per hour between Rochester and London St Pancras International, and also between Gillingham and London Victoria.
