Emergency services at scene of crash on Margate Road at Westwood

The Margate Road at Westwood, near the Ramsgate Road/Star Lane/Poorhole Lane roundabout, is closed following a crash.

Police, fire and ambulance crews are at the scene of the two-car collision by Burger King which was reported at around 2pm today (February 15).

Kent air ambulance has also been called in.

A Kent Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called at 1.55pm today (15 February) to assist other emergency services following reports of a crash in Margate Road, Broadstairs. Two fire engines were sent to the scene.”

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 1.54pm on Thursday 15 February  to reports of a serious collision on Margate Road, Broadstairs.

“Officers are currently at the scene with Southeast Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service. Delays are expected in the area and drivers are advised to use alternative routes where possible.”

The emergency services attendance is ongoing.
