Coastal Choir will be putting on a concert featuring pop, rock, folk and musical theatre, all on the theme of Love, at St George’s Church in Ramsgate next month.

The gig, support from the BradUKES ukulele ensemble, takes place on Friday, February 9 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

There will be a pay bar, with doors opening from 7pm.

All proceeds from the event will go towards funding the St George’s Community Meal in 2024. The Community Meal is a weekly event run by a group of volunteers, supported by St George’s Church and held in the Church Hall on a Tuesday evening.

The meal is about being there for one another and building lasting relationships. It helps support and guide many who struggle with isolation, ranging from the homeless and being vulnerable, to those who simply want to sit down and enjoy a cooked meal and entertainment with local friends.

St George’s regeneration officer Jemima Brown said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming people to St George’s to show their love for the community. It’ll be a bright spot in the long dark nights of February.

“We’ve been generously supported by James Brown AV on lighting the interior of the church, and the bar is being provided by The Offy from Whitstable.”

Tickets are £8 in advance and £10 on the door.
