A chilly but pleasant afternoon at the Culver Road stadium, as Rams visit Lancing, one of the form sides in the Isthmian South East league, having taken 15 points out of a possible 18 in the last six games. The supporters expectant of a good game as both sides like to play.

Rams get us underway, attacking left to right in front of the main stand.  They play the ball down the right wing, nice inter play between Jack Paxman and Joe Taylor who lays the ball across for Jack S Paxman to strike beating Louis Rogers low to his left. An early Rams goal with just two minutes played.

Rams look in buoyant mode as Taylor slots a through ball for Alfie Paxman to run onto and shoot, Rogers, this time, has it covered and saves.

Ten minutes in and you can see the game will develop into a cracker.  Both sides when in possession are quickly moving up the pitch.  Fourteenth, a lightening attack from Lancing going down the right, crossed into the Rams box at pace and Lukas Franzen-Jones running in slots home the equaliser.

With Lancing now level, the Rams are struggling to contain them, as they probe down the right, another chance this time hit over Tom Hadler’s crossbar by Charlie Benett.

Rams looking to get back into the game, create a super move as Tijan Jadama goes in on goal, shoots, comes back from the keeper to Jack S Paxman, passes to Jack Parter to strike cleared by Lancing.

Rams more in the game now as Taylor goes close, but his shot blocked by Andrew Briggs. Will Rams pressure tell? Jadama fouled edge of the box, ball swung across to Mike West, his shot over Rogers crossbar.

Thirty fifth, after some persistent play Jadama earns Rams a corner.  They try a training ground routine but Lancing are wise to it and clear. Jadama brought down again, the ball heading toward goal. Taylor is the quickest to react and dinks the ball over Rogers to restore Rams lead.

Rogers in the Lancing goal is certainly the busier of the keepers as toward the end of the first half, Parter and Alfie Paxman both have shots saved. Forty fourth, Parter goes through and is brought down in the box, ref seems to play advantage as Alfie Paxman shoots wide.

A slow start to the second half as Lancing are passing the ball around as they probe the Rams midfield, as they look to improve on their first half performance.

There has been little action as we are approaching the hour mark.  Franzen-Jones gets a good opportunity and forces an excellent save by Hadler to gain a corner, which Rams defend well.

Fifty ninth, Lancing replacement coming on, Charlie Pitcher for Franzen-Jones, who has had a very good game.

Lancing seem the more settled of the sides with the change seemingly making a difference to the balance of their side.

Sixty fifth, Rams change as Parter makes way for Bioletti, moving Alfie Paxman from an attacking role to a left back position, possibly not the best idea, as the majority of Lancing attacks have come down that side.

Sixty seventh, Lancing attack down the right, ball low into the area, finds George Taggart ghosting in to slot home under Hadler who appears to have mistimed his dive going over the well struck close range effort.

Rams don’t even have time to settle as just a minute later, Lancing cut through the Rams back line and Benjamin Joseph Pope from range fires in beating Hadler for pace to give Lancing the lead.

Rams Jadama limps away after another challenge and has to be substituted as Medy Elito joins the fray.

Lancing now on top and playing exceedingly well and Rams are finding it hard to get out of their own half.

Seventy eighth, after some very poor defending by the Rams, they allow a fourth goal this time scored by Charlie Bennett, who skilfully finishes off Rams chance in this game.

On the balance of play this was probably the right result, although Rams did have the chances in the first half, the second certainly belonged to Lancing and they definitely took their opportunities.
