Two men arrested after disturbance report in Margate

An arrest was made in the Byron Avenue area

Two men remain in custody following a disturbance in Margate last night [December 17].

Police were called to a report of a disturbance involving a group of men and teenage boys in Margate High Street shortly before 9.30pm.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to a report of a disturbance involving a group of men and teenage boys in Margate High Street shortly before 9.30pm.

“Officers attended and two men, who are aged 32 and 27 and both from London, were arrested on suspicion of affray. No serious injuries were reported.”

The men reportedly got into a van, which was stopped by police, including a nearby dog unit, and they were arrested in the Byron Avenue area.

The two men remain in custody and enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.
