A wonderful day for football at the Acclaim Handling Community Stadium, the shared home of  host the Deres.

Rams get the match underway, but it’s the Deres with an early freekick that have the first opportunity, although hit straight into the Rams wall. An early wake up call as former Rams manager Matt Longhurst would love to get one over on his old club.

The Rams wingmen are going to be in for a busy day, as Rams look to spread play wide Jordan Green down the right, gets the ball across to Taylor, who’s instantly closed out. Taylor is seeing a lot of the ball in the early stages.

Deres get an opportunity, a defensive slip, allowing former Ram Josh Ajayi a chance to shoot, plenty of power in the effort forcing an aerial save from Tom Hadler.

Rams get Alfie Paxman in the game as he and Taylor create an opening for Lee Martin to shoot but no conviction in his effort.

Rams are building the pressure and creating plenty of opportunities, but the final shot is just not hitting the right spot, with Rams earning numerous corners for their many attacks.

Deres have been restricted to hitting on the break. Cameron Andrews going through should take the shot, tries a difficult ball into the area, loses control and the chance is lost.

Green and Paxman are still busy with both Deres full backs under the cosh, as both Rams wingers press forward, Rams now in control with the midfield finding both the wingers accurately every time.

Thirtieth minute, Green rounds Rivah Bailey, Dere’s left back goes into the box with no covering, defender Bailey tackles from behind, Green goes down under the challenge but ref waves away the penalty appeals.

Green most certainly has the beating of Bailey. Thirty third, Green beats Bailey again, crosses for Taylor, he shoots saved by Jordan Perrin but he’s unable to hold on. Tijan Jadama following in puts he ball over the line, to give Rams a deserved lead.

Deres from the restart straight on the attack, fired in on goal by Simon Gyimaha, Hadler forced to punch clear under pressure.

Rams certainly looking the stronger of the sides and confident in possession.  Rams create further chances, one seeing Martin trying a spectacular overhead kick.

Deres being restricted to long range pot shots. They see Hadler off his line and try an audacious lob that sees Hadler scrambling.  Seeing the ball heading wide, he goes for the camera dive giving the fans some real Christmas cheer, laughter ripples round the small crowd.

Longhurst must have words during the break as Deres have come out all guns at the start of the second half.

We are fifty-six in before Rams mount their best effort of the half thus far.  Rams are now starting to build a head of steam as they look to increase their lead, having held off the early Deres pressure.

Swift passing with Jadama playing a little further forward as the Deres threat subsides and Rams looking the more likely to score again.

Both Rams full backs are now joining the attacks. Firstly Jack Paxman linking up with Green, ball into Taylor, his effort blocked by two defenders, then Alfie Paxman linking up with Jack Parter who comes inside, shoots with some venom forcing another great save from Perrin.

Perrin’s goal now coming under constant attack as Rams want to force home their superiority, Rams have yet another corner. Sixty eighth, crossed into the near post, Jadama attacks the ball to head home a deserved second for him and the Rams.

Rams make a substitution seventy third, as Parter makes way for Benny Bioletti, just to add a bit more pace to the attack. He’s in the action almost with his first touch, more great work from Green in and around the box, lays the ball back to Bioletti who’s strike deflects off Jadama for Rams third.

The totally deflated Deres, now have the unenviable task of holding on as the Rams look to run riot. They are like an express train once they have the opposition at their mercy.

Seventy sixth, Jadama comes through from midfield, this time lays the ball off for Taylor, he turns shoots and Perrin is picking the ball out of the back of his net again, Rams have four.

Rams substitutions, as Jack Paxman who’s been up and down the wing all game and gets a deserved rest.  We see Sinnkaye Christie join the fray and Bode Anidugbe replaces Green who has worked his socks off.

Eighty third, an amazing run from Alfie Paxman down the left, hits a cross shot toward the back post and Christie gets a head to it just before it crosses the line for Rams fifth.

Rams go marching on, topping the table for Christmas, scoring plenty of goals from all positions, but the best is they are strong at the back with another clean sheet for Hadler and his defence.
