Remembrance services have been held across the isle today (November 12) as young and old gathered to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
Veterans, children and families joined services and parades in Thanet’s towns and villages. The Last Post was played and the two minute silence gave all time to reflect on those who have fallen in conflict for our country.
Standards were lowered, wreaths laid and church services held in the annual event which has been held since the end of the First World War.
