Investigation launched after motorist hits four parked vehicles and leaves the scene

An investigation is taking place after a driver ploughed into a number of parked vehicles in Margate and then reportedly left the scene on foot last night (October 6).

Police and fire crews were called to Nash Road at 10.39pm. A search was carried out which included use of a police helicopter but the motorist was not found.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 10.39pm on Friday 6 October to a report of a collision between a car and four stationary vehicles in Nash Road, Margate.

“Officers attended alongside Kent Fire and Rescue Service and carried out a thorough search of the area. An investigation into the circumstances is underway.”

Witnesses say the total number of cars hit was actually five.
