Fire crews finish at Reclamet blaze in Birchington after more than 12 hours at the scene

Crews have finally finished at the scene of a fire at Reclamet more than 12 hours after they were initially called out.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the vehicle recycling centre in Birchington at around 7.30am today (September 24), Two engines were sent to the scene and were joined by two more shortly after.

People in the area were warned to avoid the area due to smoke. Woodchurch Road was closed while crews dealt with the fire.

Crews finished at the scene, and the road was reopened, at 7.45pm.

No injuries were reported, and cause of the fire is not yet known
