If local produce, cool cocktails and some upcoming music from DJ, producer and remixer Ray Mang sound like your cup of tea then Seabird in Ramsgate could be the venue for you.
The café and bar at The Broadway – formerly the Eats n Beats site – is headed up by Damian Williams with backing from business partner Stuart Langley.

Damian who is newly married to partner Sofia, has a background of hospitality in London and most recently was the general manager at Margate’s George & Heart.
But the 42-year-old, who bought a house in Ramsgate in 2017, decided to take the plunge and use his talents to run his own venue in the town.

He said: “I felt there was lots of good food and drink in Margate but not so many in Ramsgate.
“My business partner Stuart also lives in Ramsgate and we looked to bring in Kent quality food and drink.
“I really like Ramsgate, it is beautiful and has lots of nice places to walk the dog and hang out.

“This is my first business and although I was a bit nervous I am confident about what we are doing and think Seabird offers something not currently in Ramsgate.”
Business partner Stuart also has a hospitality background as an innovator of pop-up restaurants in London and owner of two pubs. He and his wife moved to Ramsgate in 2016.

Seabird has five staff and Damian says he is looking to recruit more as opening hours are extended.
Currently Seabirds is open Wednesday to Sunday and serves up artisan coffee, cocktails, wines and beers, snacks, small plates and sharing nibbles. Suppliers include Nash Farm and The Modern Boulangerie.

Work is underway on the kitchen and once complete the menu will be expanded.
On October 21 from 3pm-10pm, customers can enjoy music from DJ Ray Tang who has remixed tracks for artists like Gorillaz, Shirley Bassey, Freddie Mercury, Khruangbin, Friendly Fires and more.

Seabirds is at 2-3 The Broadway (Addington Street).
Opening hours are Wednesday and Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 10pm and Sunday 11am to 7pm.
Kathy Bailes, The Broadway?? Surely King street Ramsgate?
No. Seabird is at The Broadway which leads into Addington Street. Eats n Beats is now in King Street
Can I get a brew or is it just coffee !
Seriously good luck but I have no idea where the Broadway is in ramsgate as I only visit the centre of ramsgate and the seafront area.
The address quoted, though correct is a bit misleading. The venue is at the West Cliff Road end of Addington Street opposite the Texaco petrol station, which is just a short walk from Waitrose.
Great. Best wishes to Seabird.
Good luck with that, and it will need it if Manston re-opens with dirty old cargo planes flying in at under 3oo meters over Ramsgate harbour!
