Disruption to Ramsgate-Ashford Southeastern services after train strikes tree on the line

Southeastern

Southeastern services between Ramsgate and Ashford International are expected to be disrupted until 3pm due to a tree blocking the line.

The 11:12am service from Ramsgate to Charing Cross reported a tree on the line in the Chartham area. The train has struck the tree and sustained some damage, so response staff are enroute to repair the train and remove the tree from the line.

The line between Ramsgate and Ashford International via Canterbury West is currently blocked while staff work to clear the line and move the affected train.

Trains between Ramsgate and Ashford International will be delayed, and some may be diverted to run via alternative routes where possible, resulting in extended journey times.

People can use  tickets on the following services at no extra cost to help you complete your journey:

– Stagecoach bus route 1 (between Ashford and Canterbury), route 8 (between Canterbury and Ramsgate) and “the Loop” (between Ramsgate and Margate).
