The road has been shut at The Square in Birchington both ways between Charlesworth Drive and Station Road following a crash between a car and a police vehicle.
The collision took place this morning (August 26) outside the North Thanet Conservative Association office.
A further police car and truck have attended the scene.
The road was cleared and reopened at approximately 3.30pm.
UPDATE: A Kent Police spokesperson said: “At 11.25am on Saturday 26 August, a Kent Police car was involved in a collision with another vehicle in Canterbury Road, Birchington. Minor injuries were reported and a woman in her 80s went to hospital as a precaution.”
The road is open again.
