GCSEs 2023: Successes celebrated at Ursuline College

Results day at Ursuline College

Students at Ursuline College in Westgate are celebrating their results this morning (August 24).

The school says that with the news that GCSE grades are working towards pre-pandemic levels and higher grades are more challenging to reach than last year, the results students have achieved are ones to be proud of.

Stand out performances:

Issac Prince who has achieved four grade 9s, four grade 8s, a grade 6 and a grade 5

Lorna Shale with two grade 9s, a grade 8 and 7, and five grade 6s

Evie Button with a grade 8, five grade 7s, three grade 6s and a grade 5

All are continuing their studies at Ursuline, undertaking A Levels in subjects including Finance, Maths, Business, English Literature, Psychology and Criminology.

Headteacher Danielle Lancefield said: “We are exceptionally proud to celebrate these achievements with our students. Their success is down to the hard work they have shown with their GCSE courses and their perseverance through the Covid years.

“The commitment of our students has been supported by their families and inspired by our incredible teaching staff at Ursuline College who have supported them in the classroom each day and offered additional catch-up sessions for those who needed it.

“As our students move onto the next chapter of their education, we wish them all the best and congratulate them on their successes.

“We are expecting a busy day enrolling internal and external students into our Sixth Form ready for  embarking on their A Level journey with us in September.”
