Woman arrested after car crash into parked vehicle and house in Garlinge

A woman has been arrested and bailed following a crash in Garlinge on Saturday (August 19).

Police and a fire crew were called to Garlinge High Street at 4.40pm after a car crashed into a parked vehicle and then into the corner of a property. It is also reported that a gas meter was destroyed and had to be turned off for safety.

Firefighters cleared up a fuel spill. Residents report the driver left the scene.

A woman was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

She has been bailed ‘pending further investigation.’

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to a report a car had collided with a parked car and a building in Garlinge High Street at 4.40pm on Saturday 19 August.

“Officers attended along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and a woman was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

“The woman has since been bailed pending further investigation and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
