Thanet entrepreneur scoops international pageant title

Charlotte was crowned Mrs Regency International

Thanet businesswoman Charlotte Silver has scooped an international title at a pageant in Las Vegas.

Charlotte, who owns Silvers in Margate and Ronnie’s in Ramsgate,  was representing Margate and the UK after winning the Mrs Diamond UK pageant title last November.

Charlotte and husband Jack travelled at the end of July to the USA for the Regency International Pageant.

The competition had contenders from across the globe, including the United States, New Zealand, Australia and many others.

At 24 Charlotte was the youngest in her category as she competed in the swimwear optional section as well as the required fashion wear, interview and formal segments.

And, she says she is delighted to have been announced as the winning Mrs Regency International.

She said: “I didn’t believe I would get top five let alone win the title and crown.

“With my new international title I want to help empower young girls and women to see their full potential and beauty as well as help them achieve whatever goals they set in front of them.”

Charlotte has achieved many of her ambitions and is the owner of four businesses, including her Silver Slipper dance school.

Charlotte’s grandad ‘Popsy’, had encouraged her to dance from her first lessons at the age of 3. Sadly he passed away when she was 13.

A talented dancer, when she was 16 Charlotte was chosen by Jennifer Ellison for a scholarship in her performing arts school in Liverpool.

Sadly for Charlotte a back injury ended her dancing career and meant she had to undertake gruelling operations to remove fluid from her spine.

At 18 she inherited money and invested it by opening Silver Slipper dance school and has since concentrated on expanding her business interests, which have a sparkly trademark theme, and getting involved with community work such as organising the Margate Carnival alongside Jack who is a district councillor.
