Haul of medals for young boxers at Pej ABC

Pej ABC Margate has returned to the isle with a clutch of gold medals after taking nine boxers to compete against some of the top clubs in the country in this year’s Manchester Box Cup.

The tournament was held at the Be Active centre in Urmston last weekend and Pej ABC boxers walked away with seven golds and two silvers.

  • Ronnie Boon,13, (48kg) won gold by unanimous decision forcing an 8 count in the last round against the Slovakian national champion who represented his country in the European championships
  • Charlie Knight,13, (34kg) won gold by unanimous decision
  • Tommy Glithero,14, (56kg) won gold by third round stoppage following a unanimous decision in his semi-final bout
  • Alfie Glithero, 10, (40kg) won gold by second round stoppage
  • Kian Hardy, 15, (46kg) won gold by third round stoppage
  • Bodhi Underwood,16, (60kg) won gold by unanimous decision
  • Dylan Green, 16, (63kg) won gold by unanimous decision following a unanimous decision in his semi-final bout
  • Troy Ledene,17, (54kg) took silver by a poor split decision
  • Finley Knight,11, (32kg) took silver with a flip of a coin split decision over the reigning national schoolboy champion.

Sessions are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday – juniors 6pm-7pm, youths and seniors 7pm-9pm.
